Bag Failure alert

A Bag Failure is usually caused by a bag failing to open.

The PLC program knows that a bag has opened and is available using the bag sensor which is mounted behind a flap and activates input X2 when the bag blows open and pushes the flap forward.

You can test this by pushing on the flap and watching the light on the sensor turn ON along with Input X2. If you are watching on the MyVends PLC Status page, hold the flap and wait for the signal to come through.

Usually a bag failure is due to a hung bag. You can try clearing it remotely by dropping the trap door and running the blower simultaneously a few times. If you see X2 turn OFF and then turn ON only when the blower runs you have most likely succeeded in clearing the bag jam. Reset the PLC and try running a bag vend remotely.

Other situations are when a bag is upside down on the wicket, this will require you to go to the machine and clear the errant bag.
