Rake Failure Alert
The Transfer Box will call for ice when it is not full. The Transfer Box Sensor (X6) will turn ON when it is not covered with ice and trigger a call for ice which results in the Rake and the Horizontal Auger running.
This should normally result in the Transfer Box filling and the Sensor covered in ice but if this does not occur after a preset amount of time, times out, a Rake Failure will be reported.
The cause of this failure can be:
- Gaps in the ice in the bin, a large enough gap may cause the Rake to timeout.
- Failed Avalanche Sensor - this sensor is designed to slow down the Bin Floor if there is too much ice in the trough. Since this sensor is wired in series with the Bin Floor Arm sensor it will disable that sensor.
- Misadjusted Bin Floor Arm sensor (X4) - if this sensor does not trigger when the arm is away from the Rake the Bin Floor motor will only jog a little bit at a time and may not bring the ice forward fast enough.
