Updating the Vision 130 with an SD Card
When upgrading a JustIce machine to MyVends monitoring, the PLC will need an update. Using an SD card, the updating process can be done without having to switch out the PLCs. This article will show how to insert and clone the program from the given SD card.
Inserting the SD Card
Before inserting the SD card into the Vision PLC, check the SD port (shown in the image below) if there is a card already inside. If there is, press the card in, which will cause it to pop out.
With the SD port free, push the SD card that was provided by PLCBridge into the PLC. A click will indicate that the card was fastened securely; it should be flush with the rest of the PLC.
Cloning the Program
Once the SD card is inside the PLC, complete the following:
- Hold down the i button for 5 seconds. A pop-up will prompt you to enter a password; enter 1111.
- The Info Main Menu screen will appear next. Press 2 on the keypad to enter the System menu.
- In the System menu, press the 7 for SD.
- In the SD menu, press 1 for Restore From SD.
- In the Restore From SD menu, press 5 for Cloning.
- In the Cloning Files menu, verify that the only file is DATAWRX1. Press the arrow (enter) button to select the file. When the Load Cloning pop-up appears, press the arrow (enter) button again to begin the cloning.
- Wait 2-5 minutes for the update process to finish.
Once the update process is complete, take the SD card out from the PLC (press the SD card in) and ship the card back to the PLCBridge office.
