Pushover Not Sending Alerts on iOS17

With the recent release of iOS17, some iPhone users have not been receiving alerts from Pushover. This article will go over the symptoms of this particular issue and how to resolve it.

Environment

  • The device is an iPhone.
  • The iPhone was recently updated iPhone to iOS .
  • The iPhone is not receiving MyVends notifications.
  • MyVends alerts are shown in the Pushover app.

Re-Enabling Pushover Notifications

To re-enable Pushover notifications, go to the iPhone's settings app.

In the settings menu, find and tap the "Notifications" setting.

Scroll through the list of apps to find "Pushover".

At the bottom of this menu, there is a section labeled "LOCK SCREEN APPERANCE". Set the "Show Previews" option to "Always".

Still Not Receiving Alerts?

Confirm that Notifications are Enabled

If the device is still not receiving MyVends alerts, ensure that "User Notifications" and "Enable Pushover" are enabled in the MyVends profile page (click the link to go to the profile page).

Reset Pushover's Configurations

If the both settings were enabled, try resetting Pushover's configuration in MyVends:

  1. Press the "Reset Pushover" button in the User Notifications section.
  2. Re-enable Pushover by toggling the Notify by Pushover option. This will direct you to a new window

  1. If there is a prompt to log in, use the log-in credentials used for Pushover, not MyVends.
Log in using your Pushover account
  1. Click "Subscribe Me". You'll receive a Pushover notification that you've been subscribed to MyVends notification after clicking/tapping "Subscribe Me".
Click or tap "Subscribe Me" to finish
