Adjusting a JustIce Ice Maker's Quantity
The JustIce machine can limit how much its ice maker produces. This article will explain how to navigate to the Setup Menu in the Vision 120/130 PLC and how to limit the quantity of ice the machine will produce.
Quick Links
Navigating to the Setup Menu
To enter the Setup Menu, press "i" to the left of the screen, then press 3 on the key pad
In the Setup menu, the Weight SP should already be selected, indicated by the highlighted value. The Weight SP has two values: a low and a high.
When the weight of the bin reaches the...
- High Value: the machine will stop making ice.
- Low Value: the machine will stop selling ice.
In the example above, the ice maker will run until it reaches the high value: 1400lbs. When the weight falls below the low value, 200lbs, the machine will stop selling ice.
Adjusting the High and Low Values
To adjust the High and Low values:
- Use the left and right directional arrows to highlight the value that needs to be changed.
- Press the enter arrow (the arrow to the right of the screen), to begin editing.
- Using the keypad, enter the desired weight.
- Press the enter arrow again to confirm the entry.
Adjusting the Differential
What is the Differential?
In addition to adjusting the High and Low values, it is important to take into consideration the Differential value. When the ice maker stops after reaching the set High value, the Differential determines when the ice maker will run again after the weight has fallen below the High value.
For example, say a machine's High value is set to 1400lbs, and the Differential value is 100. When the weight reaches 1400lbs, the ice maker will stop, but it will only start running again when the weight has dropped below 1300lbs because of the Differential value.
Tip! The Ice Math:
(The High value) - (The Differential ) = The minimum weight for the ice maker to run again
Navigating SETUP 2
The Differential is found in the second Setup page.
- From the "SETUP 1" page (with the High and Low values), press "6" on the key pad.
- Use the right arrow to highlight the "Ice Maker Restart Differential" value at the bottom.
Note: If the Differential is shown as three asterisks (***), the value is 0.
Once the Differential is highlighted:
- Press the enter arrow (the arrow to the right of the screen), to begin editing.
- Using the keypad, enter the desired weight.
- Press the enter arrow again to confirm the entry.
